Asakusa, Shibuya, Harajuku

One of the reasons we chose this apartment was because of its proximity to Asakusa. It's just over a kilometre along the main road from here.

So yesterday we set off and walked along to it.  We were a bit early for the market stalls so stopped for breakfast in a Burger King (surprisingly nice egg, ham and cheese sandwiches).

Then we strolled up and down the tourist tat market before going and inspecting the temple and shrines.

Then the train to Shibuya to introduce Wendy to the enormous and very confusing Shibuya station, to Hachiko the dog, patiently awaiting his owner, and the to the busiest and craziest road crossing in the Whole Known Universe.

Wendy's ambition to visit a decent sized Disney Store was fulfilled

Likewise Lindsey's ambition to return to KiddyLand

We walked along Takeshita Street, largely untempted by the retail offerings, although we did stop for lunch in a burger bar

Plus we dropped into Daiso.

Back to Shibuya station, via the little supermarket we used last year when we were staying in Shibuya, and thus back to our little apartment in Kuramae.

It is difficult, but not impossible to make dinner when all you have at your disposal is a hot plate, a saucepan with no lid, a toaster oven and a microwave (but no microwave dishes). We had bought chopped vegetables, noodles, some beef slices and chicken slices and a packet of bolognaise sauce (Wendy didn't have the bog sauce).  It was quite tasty and did mean that we didn't have to go out again in search of food. I don't think any of us was particularly keen to go out for dinner.  I had mustered almost 18000 steps in the course of the day and was just a bit weary.

Today we move on to a hotel for our last night on this trip.
