When we went to Sainsbury's on Tuesday, late afternoon, which isn't any great distance, he really, really struggled getting back to the apartment.
We didn't do much walking on Wednesday.
We did walk into town on Thursday, but slowly and we weren't too adventurous.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. The sun shone. It was relatively mild. So we walked (slowly) to Waitrose. We ambled along the river path into town. He had a sit down while I was wandering around Waterstones (book shop). We went down to admire the cathedral. We had lunch in the Market Inn (again) and wandered back to the apartment late afternoon.
He didn't do too badly at all, though I think he has been glad of a nice quiet morning today.
It has obviously been very wet around here lately. We saw lots of standing water in the paddocks and grass areas on our way from London to here. And the little River Avon which runs through Salisbury has pretensions to be a Raging Torrent. All the waterways are quite full
And here we are, being Intrepid Travellers, defiant in the face of epidemics, pandemics, floods and pestilence. Though we are, of course, inside with heating, plenty of food, coffee, tea and wine.
There is a teeny, tiny bear who lives on our bed. I am astonished that no-one has "accidentally" taken it home. It is very cute
